Factors to remember when creating an intriguing album cover -

• The way the artist or band is positioned - are they even in the shot? Are they the main centre of attention? what is the first thing you notice when looking at the album?
• The text and logo you choose - interesting? catches the eye? noticable? relatable to the msuic of the album? FONT - weird,bold look, serif and unserif. Masculine or feminine
• Creative picture - cartoon like or creative e.g. ladyhawk
• The literal meaning of the album cover if there is one?
• colour schemes
• costumes
• lighting
• background
• mainstream album? does the ablum cover reperesnt the artist? is that what you want to show

Music video Diary

   Tuesday 30th October-first day filming
Today I met up with my group to start filming  beauty shots of me performing and miming in  my groups music video,in the green screen room. I think the shoot was well planned because members in my group arrived on time and we worked productively. Saskia's role during the music video was to be my hair and  make up artist it took 1 hour before shooting to get me ready.My hair also had to be styled to give an urban,edgy look.This was to establish to our audience that as an artist my genre is urban and it also constructs my "Star image" as a fashionable artist. This amount of time was needed because the aim was to achieve an natural,attractive look when I was on camera.This was effective because we needed the make up to reflect well in the lights and on the camera; the camera can show glare  . I was already wearing my costume when we arrived. My costume was a black,vest top,black trousers,black shoes ,a gold love heart necklace and a gold scarf.These colours were chosen because it reflected the fact that I was a "ghost artist" and in the music video I am a guardian angel -this is shown through the gold coloured scarf because it connotes to the audience that I "fell" from heaven;gold is symbolised with heaven.I also was wearing a gold necklace because it symbolised  my love for kelly's character in the music video.It also shows irony because what happens to kelly's character is far from loving-(The rape scene)
We did practice run through  shots of me miming and performing with the music being played in the background.This was helpful for all of the group to see if it looked realistic and if my miming was in synch with the music.practising me performing helped me look more engaging and entertaining in the camera. This helped my group give feedback on my performance-such as raising my arms higher,looking directly in the camera when I say the lyrics,"Dear God i hope you havent forgot".

I think todays shooting in  the green screen room went well because we took a range of different shots such as close-up and mid shots to potray a personal connection with the audience and we used the amount of time constructively-by taking extra shots just in case they were needed.

Changes to Storyline

 

• Tamara is now a witness to the incident that took place
• We show how the consequences of the attackers actions have damaged her life as well as she ran off without helping she feels guilt and go’s out of her way to find her
• Saskia is now Kelly's friend who is introduced at the begining and has altercations with Tamara once she establishes she witnessed the whole thing
• Instead of showing the accident literally, we will have an establishing shot of where it took place and thenm show a montage of Kelly's emotions to what has just happened.

These changes have been made as we think it is more appropriate to the message that we are trying to get across. The fact that we don't show what actually happened, it allows the audience to really think about the situation that these 3 girls have been placed in all because of the consequences of one persons actions. These changes are also easier to shoot which will allow us to have more time for editing.
